Social classes.There was a very distinctive social class system during the middle ages. Most medieval people were peasants, over 90%.The pope and crusades were very popular because of the promise of redemption of sin. A monarch is the sovereign head of state, the monarch has the highest authority in the state. Medieval knights needed to be brave and fearless and in battle but also they needed to be devout, loyal courteous, and generous. Medieval merchants farmers and craftsmen were what stores are today, farmers farmed food craftsmen created armor, weapons and the merchants sold them.Serfs were positioned to one lord and stayed there many serfs went and became crusades to get freedom.
Lords and Ladies. A lord was given a fief by the king.The lord was expected to pay taxes for the king and provide soldiers when needed. To do that the king would need to give the lord absolute power over his fief. within it, a lord's word was a law, whatever the lord said the people had to do. A lord needed a wife named a lady. Her job was to take care of the manor, run the house, and most importantly have children. Women had no rights. They were property. They belonged to their father, husband or even her eldest son.
Medieval education. Education was barley seen as an important part of Medieval Europe until it started to create a stronger image with its success. reading, writing and calculation, was becoming a skill in governments, business and even agriculture. People with these skills, such as scribes, clerks, and layers were standing in great power over other people
